Be #FDNYSmart About Electrical Fire Danger
August 25, 2015Special Edition: Hot Dog and Siren Plush Toys!
November 24, 2015Hey Friends,
Hot Dog here! It’s that all-important time of year again: Fire Prevention Week! My friends at the FDNY and the FDNY Foundation have a whole week of events planned to mark the occasion and I hope you’ll join us to learn more about how to keep your family safe.
Did you know that around half of home fire deaths happen because of fires reported between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.? As you know, that’s when most people are asleep. So, it’s incredibly important for you to have smoke alarms in your house! Having a smoke alarm in your house cuts your chance of dying in a fire in half!
This year, the focus of the Fire Prevention Week campaign is to install smoke alarms outside every bedroom and on every level of your home, even the basement! And, keep in mind, if you live in a large home, you might need even more than that!
You can check out the schedule of the week’s events by clicking here. I hope you’ll join us to find out all the different ways you can keep your family safe!
See you soon & remember, stay #FDNYsmart!
