Be #FDNYSmart with Candles During The Holiday Season
September 29, 2016A Successful Fire Prevention Week
October 13, 2016Hi Friends!
It’s Hot Dog here to let you know about an important week coming up.
Oct. 9-15 is National Fire Prevention Week. Friends here at the FDNY and FDNY Foundation have a whole week of events planned to teach you how to be #FDNYSmart.
This year’s campaign is “Don’t Wait – Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years.” Did you know having a smoke alarm in your house cuts your chance of dying in a fire in half? That’s why it’s extremely important to make sure your smoke alarm is working and up to date! Don’t forget these important tips!
- Smoke Alarms Should Be Replaced Every 10 Years
- Make Sure You Know How Old All the Smoke Alarms Are in Your Home.
- To Find Out How Old A Smoke Alarm is, look at the date of manufacture on the back of the alarm. It should be replaced 10 years from that date.
Be sure to check my Twitter and Instagram accounts each day during Fire Prevention Week as I will be sharing a new #FDNYSmart tip daily.
